day 116

Still freaking cold. The thermometer doesn't show the worst part - the wind chill. I thought forty below zero was just ridiculously cold, and maybe we'd go a few degrees over on the coldest day ever - but that was LAST YEAR. This year, minus fifty is the new minus forty. Windchills are often hitting the minus fifties. The temperature dropped so quickly one night, our furnace couldn't keep up. This week, school was actually cancelled one day because it was too cold. That NEVER happens. Sometimes the buses don't run but school is always open for those who can make it. But this week, it was too cold and too dangerous for kids to be walking to school, even a short distance.

And don't even get me started on how many days we've had like this. Its supposed to be a freak thing that happens on the coldest day of the year, and then it goes back to normal. Its not supposed to STAY for WEEKS.

Global warming, my ASS.
